Bougie Tallow Company was built from the ground up—right here in Tennessee, with fat from cattle raised on Shelly’s father’s farm, FH Farms. These cows are grass-fed, never grain-finished, and raised without hormones or antibiotics. It’s not a slogan—it’s how they’ve always done it.

The idea was simple: take the highest-quality fat we had access to, and turn it into something that gave back. We didn’t need middlemen, fancy marketing, or mass production. We had the land, the cows, and the skills. So we got to work.

We render every batch of tallow ourselves—low and slow, in small quantities—to preserve the integrity of the fat and ensure purity. No industrial shortcuts. No Preservatives. No question marks. Just clean, grass-fed tallow, some avocado oil  as a carrier with a touch of beeswax when needed.

What started as a practical way to use what we had—fat from cattle already being raised to the highest ethical and nutritional standards—quickly became something more. Friends and family started asking for jars. Then people we’d never met. They loved how it felt. How it worked. How simple it was.

That’s when we knew we had something worth sharing.
